Summary

BLOK is a digital wellbeing app that helps you limit app usage through NFC-based blocking. We do not collect, store or transmit any personal data. Everything BLOK does happens entirely on your device.

Data we do NOT collect

• No personal information (name, email, phone number)
• No location data
• No browsing or usage data sent anywhere
• No data sent to external servers — BLOK works 100% offline
• No cookies or trackers
• No data shared with third parties

Data stored locally

BLOK stores the following information exclusively on your device (it never leaves it):

• The list of apps you have chosen to block
• Usage statistics (time blocked, opening attempts)
• App preferences (theme, blocking state, focus spaces)

All of this data is completely deleted when you uninstall the application.

Accessibility Service

BLOK uses the Android Accessibility Service with the sole purpose of detecting when you open an app you have chosen to block. This service:

• Only checks the package name of the foreground app
• Does not read, capture or store screen content
• Does not log keystrokes or interactions
• Does not access notifications, messages or personal data
• Does not transmit any information off the device

Notification access

If you enable notification blocking, BLOK uses the Notification Listener Service exclusively to hide notifications from apps you have blocked, while blocking is active. Notification content is never read, stored or transmitted.

NFC

BLOK uses NFC exclusively to toggle app blocking on and off. NFC communication is local between your device and the NFC tag. No information is transmitted to the internet.

Permissions

• NFC: to read NFC tags and toggle blocking
• Accessibility: to detect the foreground app and show the blocking screen
• Query installed apps: to show the list of apps available to block
• Notification access (optional): to hide notifications from blocked apps

Security

All data is stored in the app's private storage, protected by the Android security system. No data is accessible to other applications.

Children's privacy

BLOK does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads, no in-app purchases and no external links to third-party services.
